Roadtrip sur l'île des Dieux | Bali

Roadtrip on the Island of the Gods | bali

Bali, oh Bali! The 5,637 km2 Indonesian island, which lies between Java and Lombok, has so much to offer. With a verdant jungle, friendly locals, warm water all year round and sandy beaches! All this makes the Island of the Gods the perfect vacation destination! These attractions, of course, make it a very (too?) touristic island. But there are still well-kept little corners of paradise! And for that, I advise you to equip yourself with a means of transport and get off the beaten track. So one word: R O A D T R I P!

Rent a scooter or car (I rented a small Toyota for 19 USD per day, incl. insurance on https://www.autobali.com/ ) and discover the wonders of this island! Start with the mountainous regions of Sideman to the east, stay for a few days and enjoy this remote area. Take a walk in rice fields as far as the eye can see as beautiful and impressive as those of Jatiluwih, minus the tourists! Do not hesitate to ask your hotel or a local if they know someone who could give you a guided tour.

Also enjoy going to lunch at Bloo Lagoon Eco Village and snorkeling at the nearby Blue Lagoon.

From there, continue your journey to Amed, in the north of the island. Essential diving spot and do not miss the Blue Earth Village ! Yoga with a view, vegan meal and even vegan cake! Yohoo!

From there, discover the intense Ubud. Touristy but still charming. Take advantage of taking the short “Campuhan Ridge Walk” to escape the intensity of the city for a bit.

Our AirBnB with private pool in the center of Ubud.

End this roadtrip in Canggu, surfer region, quite touristy but very easy-going. One of my favorite areas in Bali <3 Ditch the car and wander around the area! Relax in one of the many beach bars while watching a magnificent sunset. Little bonus from Canggu, always full of dogs playing on the beach!

And the icing on the cake, many small vegan/vegan-friendly restaurants. NOT TO BE MISSED, “Alkaline Restaurant” at Serenity Eco Guest House and GIVE which donates 100% of its profits to those who need it most!

One watchword: ENJOY!
